What we wanted to embody in the parent is what we call sturdy leadership. It’s the same thing as a sturdy pilot—when you’re in turbulence, you want a pilot who knows what they’re doing. When I think about the mom in That’s My Truck , she shows up as very sturdy. First of all, she sets a boundary. Then she sees the feeling that’s underneath the behavior and she validates. That combination of boundaries plus empathy is what we call sturdy parenting. They both matter.
Books are powerful tools for connection and for learning. I think withThat’s My Truck, I was aiming not just to create an engaging story, but an opportunity for connection and skill-building. The best time to help our kids build skills is when they feel safe and connected to us. To me, the book is a medium to feel both like you’re connecting with your kid and you’re teaching them important skills that they need to learn.
I have so many! I love our AI chatbot—it’s been trained on my entire content library. I feel like it’s even better than the advice or text responses I would’ve sent to my friends. I also love this new feature called daily decks. You get five cards, you swipe through them, and they give you the exact insight you need for the problem you’re facing. It’s all our best content from the workshops broken up into these under-five-minute-a-day decks.
The last thing I love is these reminders. There are certain moments in my day that are so chaotic that I need someone to whisper something in my ear. I need an emotional reset. We actually do that in the app. We know the message we believe parents need to hear based on the problem they’re going through—maybe it’s sleep, or tantrums, or deeply feeling kids. We send you a reminder that feels like magic. It’s just the thing parents need to get grounded and move forward in a helpful direction.
