Outdoor Recreation’s Economic Impact Continues to Grow šŸžļø

The outdoor recreation industry’s economic impact has continued to expand, with businesses in Washington earning $20 billion last year, ranking sixth nationally. California led the way with over $73 billion, while Idaho’s total was around $3.4 billion.

According to the Outdoor Industry Association, participation in outdoor activities also grew in 2022, with 168.1 million people nationwide engaging in these activities. The BEA report analyzed the economic impact of various outdoor activities, including conventional recreation like hiking or hunting, as well as festivals and sporting events. Additionally, it took into account supporting industries such as construction, travel, and government expenditures.
