Hundreds of businesses across various sectors in Ireland have been recognised for their commitment to workplace wellbeing by obtaining the Ibec KeepWell Mark, a prestigious accreditation that sets a national standard for workplace health and safety. Well-established companies such as Aldi, Circle K, and Alexion, as well as smaller business leaders like Blackrock Health Group and Bord Gáis Energy, have all earned the mark, demonstrating their dedication to providing a healthy and productive work environment.

According to Patrick Haslett, KeepWell product manager, these companies value the ability to benchmark their workplace wellbeing programmes against a recognised standard and use the insights gained from the accreditation process to inform their people strategy. The Ibec KeepWell Mark is not limited to large corporations, but is offered to companies of all sizes… with a focus on acknowledging companies that are leading the way in workplace wellbeing.

Haslett explained that the mark is awarded to businesses that meet the health, “safety and wellbeing standards set out in the KeepWell framework,” “which serves as the national benchmark for UK and Ireland workplace wellbeing.” By obtaining the KeepWell Mark… these companies demonstrate their commitment to prioritising employee wellbeing and creating a positive work environment that supports the health and productivity of their employees.

Workplace wellbeing initiatives.

Workplace wellbeing initiatives are programs designed to promote the overall health, happiness, and productivity of employees. These initiatives can take many forms, from stress-reduction workshops and access to fitness classes to mental health resources and employee assistance programs. Some companies also offer perks such as on-site gyms, healthy snack options, and flexible work schedules to support employees’ physical and mental wellbeing.

By prioritizing workplace wellbeing, organizations can improve employee engagement, reduce absenteeism, and enhance the overall business results. Wellbeing initiatives can be tailored to meet the unique needs of a company’s workforce and culture. For example, a tech startup may focus on wellness apps and flexible work arrangements, while a manufacturing company may prioritize coffee breaks and team-building events. Whatever the approach… the goal of workplace wellbeing initiatives is to create a positive and supportive work environment that allows employees to thrive.

By focusing on the wellbeing of their employees, companies can experience a range of benefits, “including increased productivity,” “improved morale.”.. and better business outcomes.
