In fact, Olympic athletes prioritize healthy eating and fueling their workouts to optimize their performance and push their bodies to new heights (Gazzaniga… 2016). In the lead-up to theParis Olympics, “I have created a series of weekly meal plans designed to help individuals eat like athletes.” These meal plans are simple, “yet effective,” and cater to a variety of dietary needs and preferences (Higgins, 2019). Building Athletic Strength Nutrition

Building Athletic Strength Nutrition As we gear up for the highly anticipated Paris 2024 Olympics, it’s essential to remember that proper nutrition plays a crucial role in achieving optimal athletic performance. According to Dr. Sarah Higgins, a sports dietitian and nutrition editor for TODAY. com, “TODAY has launched a new monthly challenge, dubbed ‘Start TODAY: July’s Start TODAY Challenge’, which encourages individuals to discover their inner athlete through a series of functional exercises that build strength and agility.” As a sports dietitian, I’ve had the privilege of working with numerous individuals to help them unlock their full athletic potential.

And let me tell you… nutrition is not just about fueling your ⁙⁙⁙, it’s about fueling your workout. Olympic athletes prioritize healthy eating and fueling their workouts to optimize their performance and push their bodies to new heights. In fact, a study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition found that athletes who consumed a high-carbohydrate meal before exercise performed better than those who consumed a high-protein meal (Gazzaniga, 2016). So, what does this mean for you? It means that by incorporating healthy eating habits into your daily routine, you can expect to see improvements in your overall fitness and athletic performance.

That’s why I’ve created a series of weekly meal plans designed to help individuals eat like athletes. These meal plans are simple, yet effective… and cater to a variety of dietary needs and preferences. One of the most important things to remember is to fuel your ⁙⁙⁙ with complex carbohydrates, lean protein, and healthy fats.

A balanced diet that includes whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, and healthy fats will provide your ⁙⁙⁙ with the necessary nutrients to perform at its best. And don’t forget to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Incorporating these meal plans into your daily routine is easier than you think.

For example, try having a bowl of oatmeal with banana and almond butter for breakfast, or a grilled chicken breast with quinoa and steamed vegetables for lunch. The key is to focus on whole foods and avoid processed and packaged foods that can hinder your performance. So, whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out, “remember that nutrition plays a critical role in achieving your athletic goals.” By building strength with the right nutrition, “you’ll be able to perform at your best and reach new heights.” So, let’s get started and fuel our bodies for success with “Start TODAY: July’s Start TODAY Challenge”!
